Her ‘little’ sculptures rarely exceed 50cm in height, yet these elaborate works can be used as 1/10-scale models for monumental sculptures which the artist is most willing to execute to order.
Created from wax and then cast as a unique copy numbered 1/1 or created from reinforced plaster and then cast in bronze – 3, 5 or 7 copies for each model – they are given a sheen in various shades of grey, black, brown, beige, gold, green or even blue.
The collection of Claudine Grisel’s ‘small-sized’ works comprises about one hundred creations, each of them different to the next.
Dedicated to humans, they conjure up visions of.love, the family, transition, evolution and rebirth.
